We built a test kiln and developed an initial understanding of how to apply thermal technology efficiently to denature significant amounts of cement bonded chrysotile.
We went through an extensive analytical exercise in order to gain an Environment Agency Permit and Planning Permission. This included a full Environmental Assessment, development of detailed operating procedures, and development of required specialised abatement technology.
We raised a seven figure sum in order to build a demonstration plant. This required development of a detailed business plan and was subject to forensic due diligence by our investors.
A state of the art, special purpose kiln incorporating innovative patented technology was built along with the extensive abatement system. This was designed to ensure a safe working environment with no hazardous emissions.
The Environment Agency required a number of Pre-Operational tests to be satisfied before the demonstration plant could be opened. During these tests we denatured over 80 tonnes of asbestos roof sheets containing chrysotile.
We are now planning the development of the world’s first full-scale plant for the thermal treatment of cement bound chrysotile.
