Calmag achieves end of waste status

On 15th August 2024 the Environment Agency confirmed by letter that [Calmag] has achieved end of waste status. Specifically they stated that “we are satisfied the process will denature and destroy all asbestos in the material.” They also confirmed that “The evidence in the Submission is considered sufficient to ensure Calmag is appropriate for use as an aggregate” and that “the Submission provides evidence and assurance of the suitability for use of the Calmag as a cement additive.”
